This is for you......

Psalm 34:18 (ESV) - The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

Dear Brokenhearted,

I’m here to encourage you that you CAN and WILL make it though! Yes, it’s easier said than done but trust me when I say I’ve been there and know how it feels. There are times I am faced with waves of the hurt or the stinging reminders of what I’ve experienced. It seems as though when I’m doing good or even great, here comes a storm whose mission is to overtake me. But I know where I can take refuge and I possess the power and authority to command peace in the midst of the storm. In Luke 8:24 it says, “And they went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and the raging waves, and they ceased, and there was a calm.” The same authority that Jesus has, we possess today and can exercise in the midst of any given situation!

I know it’s hard to fathom how you’ll get through this! Trust me when I say I’ve been there and know how it feels. The hurt and pain can be so intense that you find it near impossible to go about life as usual. Sometimes you can’t think past those moments, let alone have enough strength to get through the whole day. It seems that you’re literally surrounded by a dark cloud and have little to no hope. God desires for you to lean on and trust in Him in these moments! He doesn’t want you to experience it on your own and He surely doesn’t want you to stay in it!

He wants to strengthen you as you go through depression, grief, heartbreak, disappointment, etc. His strength is SURELY made perfect in our times of weakness but are you willing to give it over to Him? Or are you holding onto it as if it’s a prized possession? Now is the time to RELEASE! Release those tears! Release the guilt and shame! Release the anger! Release the fear! Release it ALL! I can only imagine how God feels as our Father when He sees His precious children go through various trials and tribulations. I do know that He wants you to be free, healed, and whole and that requires you releasing (or surrendering) those things to Him. That means no longer taking ownership of it or coming into agreement with it! Again, I say RELEASE!

Sincerely,

Jess
